Frequently Asked Questions
How much are your services?
My new base fee starting January 2023 is $300. There are additional fees for things such as: travel greater than 25 miles; if I need to attend a separate day rehearsal; music; pre-marital help; etc.
How long are your ceremonies?
It really depends on circumstances and what you want. Outdoor vs indoor weddings; complexity of your ceremony; vendor or venue time issues; etc. But most importantly, it comes down to what will be most meaningful for you and your fiance. Some want a short ceremony (I’m embarrassed but I was asked to do an 8 minute ceremony once) and some want it lengthy (I once did a 45 minute ceremony from a complete script provided to me).
My bare bones script is about 14 minutes. When you add things like the processional, bridal entrance, personal vows, special additions, etc., the average total length of my ceremonies is around 25 minutes.
Do you offer pre-marital help?
Yes, I do. My wife and I are Prepare and Enrich certified. Pricing starts at $185.
Is a rehearsal included in your base fee?
I’m sorry, but no. For me to attend a separate day rehearsal, depending on venue location, will add an additional $200.
In most cases, if you have a wedding planner, they can walk you through your rehearsal and I won’t need to be there.
The only times that I recommend that I attend a separate day rehearsal are when couples don’t have a wedding planner or when the ceremony is unusually complex with a lot of moving parts. Now if one or both of those things are the case and if your wedding is being professionally videotaped then I highly recommend that I attend your separate day rehearsal.
How do we book and pay you?
I don’t require any written contracts. Email correspondence and confirmation are enough for me.
I take cash or check as well as online payment (PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle). I’m sorry but I am not currently set up to receive credit card payments.
How do you officiate and play music?
I place my guitar or ukulele on the ground next to me on a stand. So it’s right there when it’s time to play music.
Here’s a video explaining a little about where the music might fit in a wedding ceremony.
Thank you so much for considering me for your big day!
